Lower Thoracic Spinal Myeloradiculopathy with Intramedullary Schwannoma in an Elderly Woman: A Rare Case Report

Intramedullary schwannomas are a rare form of spinal tumors. Here, we present case 61-year-old woman who was admitted to our hospital with complaints weakness in both lower extremities, numbness, urinary and defecation disorders, radiculating back pain. Physical examination revealed sensory motoric deficits the as well autonomical dysfunctions. Radiological imaging mass at level thoracic segment, which confirmed schwannoma through histopathological analysis. The patient underwent laminectomy tumor removal posterior stabilization. She also diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus hypertension. Spinal intramedullary is condition that requires thorough history physical for diagnosis, particularly patients neurological impairments. Prompt treatment essential once diagnosis made.
